170th birthday of Alsager Station – the Jinty Project

9th October 2018

Special activities were held through 2018 to enhance the station environment and build positive relationships with the local communities. Project activities resulted in a new willow frame, a wild flower garden of pollinator friendly plants and the planting of more edible plants. Adopters put on a week-long station history display in Alsager Library. Pupils from Excalibur Primary School and Alsager School created permanent artwork depicting the history of the station, unveiled on 9 October attended by pupils and the Chair of Alsager Town Council. The adopters were rewarded for their hard work with an ACoRP Silver “It’s Your Station” award.
