Community cafe trialling at Kidsgrove Station

North Staffordshire CRP, East Midlands Trains and local café A Potter Tea have joined together to set up a new community café facility in Kidsgrove Station Booking Hall.

Called 'A Spotter Tea', the café is run by Potter Tea owners Paula and Ian Tervit to provide refreshments for passengers during morning peak times 0630-1000, and Saturday mornings during December.

Based on the passenger take up and their feedback to East Midlands Trains during the 2-month trial, it is hoped A Spotter Tea will become a permanent facility.

Partnership Project Officer Faye Lambert said: "Footfall at Kidsgrove has grown by over 200% in recent years and passengers have often requested that a café be provided, especially as there is no on-board catering available on any of the services calling at the station. We’re delighted that Paula and Ian are supporting us to improve facilities for passengers and hope that passengers will embrace the facility so we can sustain it. They’ve already given great feedback, which is really promising."
