Silver Gilt award for Alsager station

10th November 2015

The first-class volunteer team at Alsager station have scooped yet another award.

For the first time ever, Alsager In Bloom entered Alsager station into the North West In Bloom competition as a separate entry into the Railway Station category. The result? A Silver Gilt award, recognising the volunteers gardening prowess in creating a welcoming station environment for passengers.

Also acknowledged in the award is the great community involvement at the station: this year, the volunteers and North Staffordshire CRP have worked with local residents, Betley Primary School, Rose Hill Station and Alsager Women’s Institute, developing projects to improve the station gardens, help children learn about rail safety, and promote the route.
