Uttoxeter Station Project

Uttoxeter station is in the Staffordshire County Council local authority area. Annual footfall is 157,547 (based on Office of Rail and Road station usage)

Thanks to great support from Staffordshire County Council, East Midlands Trains, station volunteers and the local community, we have been able to deliver a number of improvement projects for passengers using Uttoxeter station, including:

  • Closed circuit TV (CCTV)
  • Customer Information Screens (CIS) with public address
  • 120’ ‘Welcome to Uttoxeter’ permanent station mural, created using ideas from station volunteers and sponsored by local businesses and organisations
  • Encouragement of station adoption by local residents; a team of station volunteers now plant and maintain the station garden beds, providing seasonal colour, herbs and strawberries for passengers to enjoy
  • At the 2017 ACoRP Community Rail awards, Uttoxeter was awarded Gold Level for the 'It's Your Station' category for their recently installed Fairtrade Garden. Praise was received not only for their beautiful gardens, but also for their continual dedication to improve their local community.
