Kidsgrove station is in the Staffordshire County Council local authority area. Annual footfall is 230,266 (based on Office of Rail and Road station usage). As well as the hourly East Midlands Railway Crewe-Stoke-Derby service, the station is also served by Northern (direct service to Manchester Piccadilly and Stoke-on-Trent) and London Northwestern Railway, who provide an hourly semi-fast service to Crewe, Stafford, Stoke-on-Trent and London Euston.
