Research at Stone Railway Station

Do you travel by train?

Are you a wheelchair user, a cyclist, a family with a pushchair or carrying heavy equipment? Or do you just find walking up and down stairs difficult?

If so, this project may be of interest to you.

During the last two weeks of March and in April 2022 All the Small Things CiC will be asking people for their views on access to Stone Railway Station. The research has been commissioned by the Local Authority and North Staffordshire Community Rail Partnership. We want to find out if having step free access at the station would help you.

This information would provide evidence of the need for better access, including the possible installation of lifts, at Stone Railway Station and would inform potential future bids for funding to carry out this work, for example from Access for All funding from the Department for Transport.

Our researchers will be out and about at the station, in the surrounding area and in the town centre. We will also arrange visits to local relevant local groups. More details, including an information sheet, will be available on our website and we will update our Facebook page.

There will be a written report at the end of the project which we will share.
