Try the Train with St Mark’s CE Primary School

Apr 2022

Twenty-eight, Year 4 pupils from St Mark’s CE Primary School in Stoke, took part in a Try the Train Day in April. Pupil’s spent the morning on a guided Duck Bills Story Trail walk around Stoke, learning about the history of Stoke and the railway, before catching the train to Stockport. For many it was their first journey on a train.

At Stockport Station they learnt about safety on the railway with an interactive talk from the British Transport Police and they were given a talk and a station tour by Avanti West Coast staff where they were able to try some fun, hands on activities including announcing and train dispatch!
