Midway on the North Staffordshire Line is the city of Stoke-on-Trent, the World Capital of Ceramics. There are many tourist attractions accessible from Stoke-on-Trent including pottery factory outlets and tours, the Trentham Estate and Wedgwood Visitor Centre.

As well as the North Staffordshire Line service to Crewe and Derby, Stoke-on-Trent station provides frequent, direct services to Birmingham, London Euston, Manchester, Stafford, and the south and south-west.
