Avanti West Coast have funded a huge project across their network to give pupils living in low income areas an exciting – and completely free – field trip by train. We have helped out in a small way by accompanying school groups to local destination, Gladstone Pottery Museum, where children learn about the pottery industry and paint a tile in the style of local pottery designer, Clarice Cliff. We’ve also accompanied Stoke schools on their trip to The Lowry at Salford Quays. Travelling by tram proved to be a high point with the children! It’s also been a real pleasure to be able to deliver rail safety talks at participating Stoke schools. Get in touch if your school would like to take part.
