Penkridge History Project

Penkridge History Project

Jul 2023

In July, pupils from Wolgarston High School took part in a guided Rails to Trails walk around Penkridge to learn about the history of the village. Penkridge Heritage Centre kindly opened up for us so pupils had a chance to look around the building, the reconstructed prison cell and at the old documents and photos on display. Being put in the stocks at the front of the building was a definite hit! After completing the trail pupils returned to school and took part in a poetry workshop, funded by London Northwestern Railway, to produce a group poem about Penkridge’s history which will go on display at Penkridge Station.
