Tales in the Park Storytelling Festival

Tales in the Park Storytelling Festival

Aug 2023

This campaign was led by Stoke Reads, a local campaign of the National Literacy Trust.  It organised six events in Stoke-on-Trent parks and a children’s centre during August.  Every child went away with a free book from Stoke Reads and many other freebies from partner organisations.  NSCRP attended four of the events in liaison with the City Council’s TravelSmart .  We gave away lots of Arlo and I-Spy Railway books as well as freebies provided by Network Rail and EMR.  Many thanks to Active Travel Officer, Jayne Clamp, for including us at this important event.

We ran the Treasure Map competition again and had 211 entries, mainly in the first two events.  Well done Emma and Jayne for managing the queues!  The rail card was hidden on the Edinburgh to Tweedbank rail route. Natalie Perry wins a Family and Friends Railcard.
